Job Description:

Prepare breads and pastries, including preparing doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating as appropriate. Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance. Ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures. Deliver the Gold Standards of The Ritz-Carlton graciously and thoughtfully every day.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare breads and pastries according to recipes and quality standards
Review Production sheet to understand variety of baked goods to be produced daily
Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance
Keep Chef informed of excess food items for planning of daily specials
Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures
Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food
Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout shift
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees

Requirements:

Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
At least 2 years of related work experience
Ability to prepare breads and pastries including preparing doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating
Knowledge of food safety handling policies and procedures
Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time

Nice to have:

No supervisory experience required
License or Certification not required
