Job Description:

A small specialist secondary provision in Thorney supporting students with a range of SEMH and behavioural needs. The school prioritises wellbeing, emotional regulation and personalised pastoral support. This role is full‑time, starting ASAP and continuing into the next academic year.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build trusting relationships with students, offering pastoral check‑ins, emotional support and daily wellbeing monitoring
  • Work with the pastoral and safeguarding teams to deliver personalised behaviour plans and wellbeing interventions
  • Support students through challenging moments using calm, trauma‑informed approaches and restorative conversations
  • Encourage attendance, engagement and positive routines throughout the school day

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting young people’s wellbeing in schools, youth work or specialist provisions
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and the impact of trauma on behaviour and learning
  • Ability to build positive, professional relationships and maintain consistent boundaries
  • Relevant qualifications such as L2/L3 TA, Youth Work, Counselling or equivalent experience
