Job Description

Location: Leicestershire. Start Date: September 2026. Contract Type: Full-Time. Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience. Justteachers is recruiting a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Support Officer to join a supportive school environment from September. This rewarding role focuses on promoting student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and engagement.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide pastoral support to students across the school
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality and behaviour
  • Work closely with families and external agencies where required
  • Support students experiencing emotional or social difficulties
  • Deliver interventions to improve engagement and wellbeing
  • Assist safeguarding and welfare teams as required
  • Maintain accurate records and reports

Requirements

  • Have experience working with children or young people
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Be empathetic, resilient and approachable
  • Have knowledge of safeguarding practices
  • Be able to manage sensitive situations professionally
  • Possess strong organisational skills
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service
