Play a vital part in the school’s wellbeing team, supporting students with SEMH needs who may struggle with emotional regulation, confidence, behaviour, or engagement in a small, independent, vocational & highly therapeutic school.
Job Responsibility:
Providing 1:1 and small‑group pastoral mentoring
Supporting with de‑escalation and emotional regulation
Building trusting, consistent relationships with students aged 11+
Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
Working closely with wellbeing leads, teaching staff, and therapists
Creating a calm, safe, supportive environment where pupils feel grounded
Requirements:
Experience in SEMH, SEN, youth work, or behaviour support is preferred
Calm, empathetic and emotionally resilient
Confident supporting students with behavioural challenges
A great listener with strong communication skills
Able to build rapport quickly and authentically
Passionate about holistic, therapeutic approaches
Reflective, patient and consistent
