Job Description:

Play a vital part in the school’s wellbeing team, supporting students with SEMH needs who may struggle with emotional regulation, confidence, behaviour, or engagement in a small, independent, vocational & highly therapeutic school.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group pastoral mentoring
  • Supporting with de‑escalation and emotional regulation
  • Building trusting, consistent relationships with students aged 11+
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
  • Working closely with wellbeing leads, teaching staff, and therapists
  • Creating a calm, safe, supportive environment where pupils feel grounded

Requirements:

  • Experience in SEMH, SEN, youth work, or behaviour support is preferred
  • Calm, empathetic and emotionally resilient
  • Confident supporting students with behavioural challenges
  • A great listener with strong communication skills
  • Able to build rapport quickly and authentically
  • Passionate about holistic, therapeutic approaches
