Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional Pastoral Support Manager to join our Pastoral Support team, working across Worthing and Northbrook campuses. This is an essential and impactful role within the College, offering the opportunity to shape and lead outstanding pastoral provision that supports attendance, retention, achievement and personal development for all students.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing pastoral teams to deliver an excellent, student-centred service
  • ensuring strong focus on attendance, retention and achievement, with effective monitoring and intervention
  • managing staff, resources and data effectively
  • supporting the implementation of the Positive Behaviour Management policy
  • developing collaborative relationships with curriculum teams, parents, carers and external agencies
  • championing equality, diversity, inclusion, safeguarding and learner wellbeing
  • contributing to training, development and a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Experience working within Further Education or a similar setting
  • significant direct student contact
  • proven track record of leading teams
  • strong organisational and communication skills
  • ability to set and monitor SMART targets
  • confidence in working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • educated to at least A-Level standard (or equivalent)
  • broad knowledge of learner support services, inclusive learning, and relevant legislation including safeguarding, equality and disability legislation

Nice to have:

Relevant qualifications in coaching, mental health or managing challenging behaviour
