We are looking for a Pastoral Support Assistant to work along the Lead Teacher in our well-established Inclusion team. Inclusion is a busy working environment where no two days are the same. Requirements:

  • Providing pastoral support to students in the Inclusion
  • Delivering interventions to individual students and small groups
  • Supporting students in making good choices in regard to their behaviour and learning
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are implemented on a daily basis
  • Communication with staff members, external agencies, parents
  • Keeping high quality and accurate records including interventions, communication log, inclusion data base
  • Providing support within the school environment including some mainstream lessons
  • Supporting students in completing a variety of projects with inclusion such as publishing a school magazine, enterprise projects and school trips
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Proactive team member prepared to adapt to ongoing changes
  • Willing to help students try to overcome their barriers to learning
  • Positive team player able to use initiative and make professional judgements on the spot
