Job Description:

We are looking for a resilient, empathetic, and highly organised Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team in Plymouth. In this role, you won't just be 'helping out'-you'll be the bridge between a student's potential and their success. You will work closely with pupils who have diverse learning requirements, including ASC, SEMH, and ADHD, ensuring they have the tailored support they need to thrive in a classroom environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with complex learning needs
  • Implementing tailored Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Assisting with the delivery of modified lesson plans in line with the curriculum
  • Managing challenging behaviour with patience, de-escalation techniques, and a positive attitude
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external specialists to monitor and report on student progress

Requirements:

  • Proven SEN or SEMH Experience
  • Core Qualifications: GCSE in Mathematics and English (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Mobility: full UK Driving Licence and daily access to own vehicle
