Job Description:

Justteachers are looking for a Pastoral Officer to help a partner secondary school based in Blackburn, Lancashire to start with them ASAP on a full time basis. As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting the well-being, engagement, and personal development of students. You will work closely with pupils, parents, and staff to provide guidance, support, and interventions that help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral care and emotional support for students
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour, and welfare, intervening where necessary
  • Act as a point of contact for parents and external agencies
  • Support the implementation of behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Contribute to creating a positive and safe school environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a pastoral, mentoring, or youth support role (school-based experience desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting student well-being
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Legal right to work in the UK
