Job Description

As a Partnership, Launch & Expansion Manager, you will be at the forefront of Uber’s growth strategy in Japan. You will be responsible for two critical pillars that drive our business: Launch & Expansion and Strategic Partnerships. We are looking for a high-impact individual who can balance data-driven prioritization with creative problem-solving to scale our footprint and deepen our brand presence.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the expansion of our service areas
  • Manage multiple launches —ranging from strategic prioritization and schedule management to monitoring the marketplace health (supply-demand balance) of newly launched areas
  • Collaborate closely with the supply teams and bring a creative mindset to stimulate demand
  • Leverage Uber’s global brand equity to create powerful synergies with external partners, including municipal governments, airlines, and other industry leaders
  • Acquire new customers and increase frequency by designing and executing collaborative projects
  • Build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrate excellence in end-to-end project management
  • Build business models to better understand trends, provide useful insights, and track productivity of initiatives
  • Build insightful reports and presentations to communicate business performance & strategic opportunities
  • Deep dive into our biggest marketplace and core experience challenges and navigate high-touch issues through critical thinking and ideation
  • Lead initiatives, strategies and processes and work with other operations teams across the world to grow strategic and long term opportunities
  • Meet with potential external partners, such as municipal governments and industry leaders to negotiate deals
  • Expertly manage external stakeholders to find win-win solutions for Uber and the partner
  • Manage various internal stakeholders to optimize the mobility marketplace
  • Possess the analytical depth to understand how seasonality, regional nuances, and the granular components of supply and demand impact our marketplace health

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Project management experience
  • Data-first problem solving experience with excel/data management
  • Experience with working with external stakeholders
  • Japanese Fluency / Business English
  • Experience in strategy, operations, and program management
  • Experience producing executive level presentations
  • Analytics. Proven analytical skills and data-driven decision making
  • fluency in SQL, Tableau, and other analytical and visualization tools is preferred.
  • Experience taking initiative in a constantly changing work environment
  • resilience to overcome challenges and deliver during fluid conditions.
  • Self-motivated individual that works well independently
