Reporting to the Principal, Financial Analysis, this position acts as a strategic finance partner and trusted advisor to senior leadership across the organization. The role is responsible for leading end-to-end financial evaluation of high-impact, cross-functional strategic initiatives, including fleet strategy, network planning, partnerships, and corporate investments. The incumbent develops and owns complex financial models, provides actionable insights to support executive decision-making, and influences key outcomes through rigorous analysis and business partnering.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide guidance and leadership while demonstrating a strong understanding of all cost areas related to the airline’s operations, as well as overall airline strategy
  • Development of complex financial models to evaluate key decisions related to fleet composition and multibillion dollar fleet renewal programs
  • Provide financial analysis to the Network Planning & Fleet Transactions group in support of key tactical fleet decision
  • Working with all levels of the Commercial group, develop financial models and provide financial analysis and guidance related to aircraft deployment and new routes
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Network Planning, Commercial, Cargo, Alliances, and Corporate Development teams to support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment of financial and business objectives
  • Work with various client groups, both within the Finance branch and across the company, to guide, develop and/or improve business decision-making processes, models and tools
  • Develop strong relationships with various internal clients and work closely to drive improved financial performance
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of airline economics, industry trends, and competitive dynamics, and perform benchmarking analyses with other carriers to support strategic insights
  • Support multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, such as cargo long-term business case, regional and narrowbody fleet strategy initiatives, airport and infrastructure-related evaluations, sustainability initiatives

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent understanding of cost accounting principles, financial evaluation techniques and statistical analysis
  • Very strong business and analytical skills
  • Very strong financial modelling skills
  • Leader and self-starter with demonstrated strong financial, technical skills and creativity
  • Flexible work schedule and ability to handle numerous and varied projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Keen interest and experience in the airline industry
  • Strong sense of initiative and work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to shift priorities and work under pressure
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot) and Power BI (an asset)
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Graduate studies (MBA or Masters in Finance) and/ or an accounting/a financial designation (CPA/CMA/CGA /CFA) would be a definite asset
  • High degree of proficiency with Power BI
  • Based on equal qualifications, preference will be given to bilingual candidates
