We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments. Job Responsibility:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, particularly those with SEN
Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
Assist in creating and adapting learning materials to meet the specific needs of SEN students
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
Support students in developing social skills and promoting positive behavior
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of effective teaching strategies
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Assist with classroom organization and preparation of resources
Provide support during extracurricular activities and school events
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN support
Working one-on-one or in small groups with SEN students to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional explanation or practice
Implementing specific strategies outlined in students’ IEPs, such as using visual aids, breaking tasks into smaller steps, or providing sensory breaks
Assisting students with physical tasks or personal care when necessary, always maintaining their dignity and promoting independence
Supporting students in developing social skills, managing emotions, and navigating peer relationships
Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement to boost students’ confidence and motivation
Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma
associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN students
Strong understanding of various special educational needs and appropriate support strategies
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
Proficiency in using assistive technology and adaptive equipment
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and student needs
Strong organizational and time management skills
Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational software
First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
