Are you an organised and people-focused administrator looking for a role where no two days are the same? We are working with a respected small construction firm in Taunton that's looking for a confident Secretary to support the team. If you thrive in a busy role, enjoy being the go‑to person, and love keeping everything running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Job Responsibility:

  • Producing letters, reports, and documents from dictation using Microsoft Office
  • Managing diaries, arranging meetings, and coordinating appointments
  • Handling incoming calls, emails, and post - often drafting routine replies
  • Maintaining office systems, filing, archiving and keeping records up to date
  • Liaising with colleagues across multiple offices and speaking with external contacts
  • Ordering and managing office supplies and equipment
  • Photocopying, scanning, printing and supporting colleagues with admin tasks
  • Assisting with invoicing and using the Xero accounts system (no experience needed)
  • Being a friendly, supportive presence in the office (including making the occasional cuppa!)

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a busy office role
  • Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office
  • Good word processing abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb attention to detail
  • The ability to juggle tasks, use initiative and work without close supervision
  • A team-focused approach, positive attitude and flexible working style
