Job Description:

Part-time teaching opportunities for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing - BSN program. Courses may include Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab or Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab. Courses may meet one or two times per week during the daytime or evenings for eight weeks. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements:

  • Earned a master's or doctorate degree in the course subject, with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in the topic
  • Able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (or a NACES approved US course-by-course equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US)
  • Have taught or been told you’re a “natural” at teaching and helping others learn
  • Possess genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
