Job Description:

A mission-driven, innovative food company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper. This is a fully remote, long-term role expected to require approximately 10 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have previous bookkeeping experience within the food & beverage or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry and will support a dynamic, virtual team focused on changing the world through food.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
  • Process vendor payments, enter and reconcile invoices, and oversee customer billing
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding receivables (“chasing down payments”)
  • Run and reconcile regular payroll via JustWorks
  • Ensure all bookkeeping records are accurate, current, and audit-ready
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and assist with quarterly tax filings and compliance requirements
  • Prepare and maintain documentation to support tax and audit processes
  • Collaborate with a fully remote team via online communication platforms
  • Ensure all files and records are maintained securely and are easily accessible to appropriate team members

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience in the food & beverage or CPG industry
  • Demonstrated experience managing AP/AR and working with third-party payroll platforms (JustWorks preferred)
  • Proven experience preparing and filing quarterly tax forms or supporting quarterly tax processes
  • Experience working in a fully remote, virtual capacity for distributed teams
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to self-manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach

  • Familiarity with nonprofit partnerships or impact-driven business models
