Job Description

Part-time role at IKEA Alexandra supporting goods flow, recovery, and customer service in the As-Is shop.

Job Responsibility

  • Assess product conditions, recovery work, furniture assembly and general maintenance of work areas
  • Carry out data entry documenting of returned items into internal inventory systems
  • Assist in ensuring products are properly priced and displayed in accordance with safety and sale mechanism guidelines
  • Responsible for pricing As-is labelling, assembling furniture, waste and disposal management
  • Assist customers with product enquiries
  • Be aware of customers on the shop floor and prioritise offering help and advice
  • Work within the store to ensure internal damages are minimised and Recovery department supported
  • Strive to minimise financial loss of damaged goods and maximise financial recovery by repacking and moving goods back to stock or assemble, price and sell goods in the As-Is shop
  • Assist to assemble products for Store themes and handle quality claims of quality issues furniture
  • Contribute to daily and weekly sales targets to ensure delivery of Recovery action plans

Requirements

  • Comfortable with tools handling and enjoy DIY assembling
  • Physically fit and able to carry and handle heavy loads (e.g., assembled furniture) and withstand prolonged hours of standing
  • Passionate, friendly, and confident to interact with people to advise customers in product enquiries
  • Possess computer skills in MS Office, Outlook email, Google Sheets and SharePoint etc.
  • Can commit to working on rotating shifts including weekend and public holiday
