Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-time Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a large employee population in Lee's Summit, Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is confident managing end-to-end payroll activities across multiple states while maintaining compliance and precision. The role requires strong experience with payroll systems, advanced Excel usage, and the ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Process complete payroll cycles for a workforce of more than 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and on-time completion
  • Administer payroll for employees across multiple states while following applicable wage, tax, and compliance requirements
  • Use ADP Workforce Now to maintain payroll records, review entries, and support routine payroll processing activities
  • Audit payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues related to earnings, deductions, taxes, and employee records
  • Prepare and validate payroll reports using Microsoft Excel, including formulas to analyze trends and reconcile data
  • Support certified payroll activities and ensure required documentation is completed accurately and submitted on schedule
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address payroll questions and provide timely resolution to employee or administrative concerns

Requirements

  • Proven experience handling full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing
  • Background managing multi-state payroll with solid understanding of related compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience working with ADP Workforce Now in a payroll capacity
  • Ability to process payroll for large employee populations, including environments with over 500 employees
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas for reconciliation and reporting
  • Familiarity with certified payroll processes and documentation requirements
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in payroll administration
