Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Part-time Payroll Specialist to support an organization based in Appleton, Wisconsin. This is a part-time, long-term contract opportunity (approximately 20 hours per week) offering the flexibility of working 100% remotely. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions and support employees across the organization. The majority of your time will be spent monitoring the payroll inbox, responding to employee inquiries, and helping ensure payroll processes run smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with employees, solving payroll questions, and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitor and manage the payroll inbox, responding to employee payroll questions and requests in a timely and detail oriented manner
  • Provide support to employees and managers regarding payroll, deductions, tax questions, time reporting, and related inquiries
  • Assist with payroll processing activities to help ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery
  • Support multi-state payroll processes while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Utilize UKG Pro or Workday to review payroll records, research questions, and maintain accurate payroll data
  • Partner with HR and internal teams to resolve payroll issues and improve payroll communication processes
  • Review payroll data to identify discrepancies and assist with resolving payroll concerns
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive employee payroll information

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, with a focus on full-cycle payroll
  • Proven ability to manage multi-state payroll operations effectively
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as UKG Pro and Workday
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Experience handling payroll for organizations with over 500 employees
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficient in managing payroll system implementations and upgrades
