A small company in the Bloomington area is seeking a fractional/part-time consultant (8-16 hours)/week. Duration: Mid-May-September 2026. Onsite Monday & Tuesdays.
Job Responsibility:
Process biweekly payroll
401(k) & HSA funding (biweekly, Monday following payroll)
Review timecards for accuracy (weekly on Mondays)
DVM production calculations (1–2 hours, once per month)
Respond to employee inquiries, including (i.e. workers’ compensation claim guidance, eSELFSERVE troubleshooting)
Assist with benefits administration (enrollments, changes, questions)
Support onboarding and offboarding (background checks, new hire paperwork, separations)
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in human resources, payroll, or a closely related HR support role
Hands-on experience processing payroll in an automated environment with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality
Working knowledge of benefits administration, including employee enrollments, updates, and general plan support
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and employee self-service tools used for HR and payroll administration
Ability to review timekeeping information carefully and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Strong communication skills with the ability to respond clearly to employee questions and provide practical guidance
Experience supporting onboarding or broader HR administrative processes is preferred
Highly organized with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and routine weekly and biweekly tasks effectively
