We are seeking a highly organized and tech-savvy Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support a busy personal injury law firm with both legal and administrative responsibilities. This individual must be able to hit the ground running with minimal training, work independently, and confidently manage a variety of legal, clerical, and personal assistant tasks. This is an immediate need, and the firm is looking to interview qualified candidates and have someone start as soon as possible. The position will begin as a temporary assignment with the potential to become permanent for the right individual. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting personal injury matters, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with electronic court filing systems. This role offers a mix of legal support, office administration, and personal assistance to help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. Schedule: 20–25 hours per week. Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite, with some flexibility for remote work as appropriate. Assignment Type: Ongoing Temporary with Potential for Permanent Hire. Practice Area: Personal Injury. Job Responsibility
Prepare, format, proofread, and file legal documents
Manage electronic court filings (e-filing) across applicable court systems
Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files
Track deadlines, court dates, and important case milestones
Coordinate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, medical providers, and vendors
Draft correspondence and other routine legal documents
Assist with document collection, records requests, and case administration
Request and manage medical records, bills, police reports, and other case-related documentation
Support personal injury matters through various stages of the case lifecycle
Manage calendars, appointments, and scheduling
Schedule personal and professional appointments
Assist with bill payments and account management
Coordinate travel arrangements and reservations as needed
Conduct online research and handle special projects
Support miscellaneous administrative and personal tasks
Requirements
Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar legal support role
Required: Experience working within a personal injury law practice
Required: Demonstrated proficiency with e-filing systems
Must be comfortable stepping into an active caseload and requiring minimal ramp-up time
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
High level of professionalism and discretion
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Tech-savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, PDF editing software, and legal case management systems
Ability to quickly learn new software and processes

Experience supporting plaintiff-side personal injury matters
Familiarity with medical records, insurance claims, liens, and settlement documentation
Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience
Experience working in a small law firm environment
