Job Description

Our client, a highly reputable and growing organisation based just out with Edinburgh city centre, is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team on a part‑time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail‑focused finance professional looking for flexibility in their working week.

Job Responsibility

  • Inputting Sales and Purchase Invoices via Sage 50 Accounts
  • Processing Bank Reconciliations
  • Completing VAT Returns
  • Handling Purchase and Supplier Payments
  • Credit Control duties
  • Processing monthly journals (e.g., wages, stock movements)
  • Maintaining accurate Payroll Records
  • Managing and updating Client Holiday Charts
  • Preparation of accounts to Trial Balance stage
  • Assisting with the Year-End Audit Pack
  • Carrying out other ad hoc finance tasks as required

Requirements

  • Strong competency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Experience using Sage 50
  • Xero experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach to work
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Proven experience working to deadlines in a busy finance environment
