The Department of Justice, Safety, & Military Science at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a part-time faculty position to teach courses in Emergency Medical Care. Part-time faculty may teach up to nine credit hours, depending on departmental needs. Applicants will be screened and contacted as departmental needs for part-time faculty arise. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
Job Responsibility
Plan and develop EMS licensure class lesson plans
Deliver all content based upon the National Education Standards for EMS
Evaluate the competency of students from an affective, cognitive and psychomotor perspective
Requirements
Must be a state licensed or NREMT certified paramedic
Must be endorsed by KBEMS as a paramedic able to teach all levels of EMS courses
Must hold doctoral/terminal (for EMC masters is terminal) OR masters in teaching discipline or related field OR master’s degree with a concentration in teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
Paramedic with EMS educator experience
Preference for KBEMS credentialed EMS Level 2 or 3 Educator
