Job Description

The Department of Justice, Safety, & Military Science at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a part-time faculty position to teach courses in Emergency Medical Care. Part-time faculty may teach up to nine credit hours, depending on departmental needs. Applicants will be screened and contacted as departmental needs for part-time faculty arise. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and develop EMS licensure class lesson plans
  • Deliver all content based upon the National Education Standards for EMS
  • Evaluate the competency of students from an affective, cognitive and psychomotor perspective

Requirements

  • Must be a state licensed or NREMT certified paramedic
  • Must be endorsed by KBEMS as a paramedic able to teach all levels of EMS courses
  • Must hold doctoral/terminal (for EMC masters is terminal) OR masters in teaching discipline or related field OR master’s degree with a concentration in teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
  • Paramedic with EMS educator experience
  • Preference for KBEMS credentialed EMS Level 2 or 3 Educator
