Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Public Area Cleaner to join our Housekeeping Team for 16 hours per week at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa. This role is to cover the evening shift starting at 3.30pm and finishing at midnight. Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is one of Scotland's leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities of any hotel in Edinburgh with a capacity of up to 500 and our One Square Restaurant and bar.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as a liaison between Housekeeping, Guests and other departments to ensure a positive hotel experience for public areas
  • This position provides a visible and accessible floor presence in order to anticipate, understand and act upon Housekeeping associates’ needs
  • The position responds to guest requests on the floor and additionally will assist the Executive Housekeeper with day-to-day operations of the housekeeping departments
  • Responsible for ensuring service areas and lifts are clean and well maintained at all times, removing any rubbish, dirty crockery, glassware etc
  • Maintain public areas to brand standard
  • Maintain an immaculate hotel environment
  • Contribute to a seamless guest experience through attention to detail
  • Work collaboratively with Housekeeping and other hotel teams to ensure standards are maintained throughout the day
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are organised and ready for use
  • Report and follow up on maintenance or damage issues promptly
  • Respond efficiently to guest requests and operational needs
  • Adhere to lost property, safety and environmental procedures
  • Answering phone and dealing with all requests and general housekeeping enquiries
