Located in Wheatland, this part-time position supports the care and upkeep of public facilities by performing a variety of building interior and grounds maintenance duties. The work helps ensure clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for employees and the public. The position works between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and plays an important role in maintaining facilities that support daily operations and public service.
Job Responsibility:
General cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, washing windows and mirrors, and cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, classrooms, breakrooms, hallways, gym, and offices
Perform ground maintenance duties which include mowing and weeding grass in the summer months, along with care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, and flowers, and snow removal in the winter months
Operate and maintain equipment, including hand tools, vacuums, carpet shampooers, extractors, floor scrubbers, square scrubs, floor buffers, mowers, and weed eaters
Inspect and document lighting and fire extinguishers for proper operation
Maintain storage of custodial supplies
request replenishments as needed
Identify facility material deficiencies and submit work order requests to the Supervisor and Construction Facilities Management Office
Requirements:
High School Diploma
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)
OR 1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)
Valid Driver's License
Ability to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance
Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance
Computer Skills such as e-mail, MS Word, and basic computer skills
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
Safety skills and background
Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen
Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to operate cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment
Nice to have:
Preference may be given to those with a High School Diploma Plus 6 months of progressive work experience, typically in Building and Grounds
