Job Description

A client of ours is looking for Part-Time Controller to support their Finance team with monthly close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financials and ensuring smooth accounting operations. The Part-Time Controller will work closely with the Finance team to manage core accounting functions and support both internal and external reporting needs. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage essential accounting functions including financial statements, general ledger activity, cost accounting, payroll accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, tax reporting, and revenue recognition
  • Prepare workpapers and roll-forward reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Monitor, organize, and reconcile intercompany accounts monthly
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for accounts, statements, transactions, and payments
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related reports
  • Support audits by organizing and supplying requested financial information
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal financial reporting and tax requirements
  • Provide support for accounts payable workflows, QuickBooks reporting and analysis, and shared-services allocations
  • Assist with other controller-related tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four‑year institution
  • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, including hands‑on monthly close experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Transaction Pro preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with internal partners and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to perform occasional physical tasks related to file and document handling
  • Competent in using standard office technology including computers, phones, scanners, and copiers
