Are you a Compliance Specialist, or someone with experience of working in an FCA regulated business who would like to pursue a career within Compliance? Since 2021 we have been busy growing our first-class direct cremation service which offers individuals and families all over the country a simple alternative to a traditional funeral service. Like many of our colleagues, you might not have considered this industry before, however with industry training provided and on-going career development, you will find this one of the most varied and rewarding opportunities you could ever imagine. The role You’ll be reporting directly to the Group Head of Compliance, so this is a great opportunity to continue developing your career and breadth of compliance knowledge. This role will focus on AR oversight, compliance monitoring, financial promotions approval, and regulatory reporting, ensuring the business maintains strong regulatory governance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Second line AR oversight, including onboarding due diligence, annual reviews, risk assessments, monitoring visits, and remediation tracking
  • Support regulatory applications and annual attestations
  • Review and approve financial promotions (AR-issued and internal materials) with appropriate documentation and audit trail
  • Assist with data protection governance and DSAR handling
  • Support FCA reporting, compliance KPIs, and board-level compliance reporting
  • Support delivery of compliance audits in line with the compliance monitoring plan
  • Conduct horizon scanning, regulatory impact analysis, and support policy updates
  • Support SMCR training and elements of the Training & Competency framework
  • Create and maintain up to date Compliance policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in an FCA regulated sector is essential (for example, Funeral Plans, Insurance plans / Financial Services etc)
  • Experience in a compliance or risk related role within a regulated business (Compliance Specialist, Compliance Officer, Compliance Analyst etc)
  • Good understanding of FCA regulatory requirements
  • Experience with financial promotions review and compliance monitoring
  • You’ll need to pass a DBS (criminal record) check to be considered for this role

Nice to have:

  • Training & Competency (T&C) experience desirable
  • Experience with Appointed Representative oversight desirable
