Job Description:

Aramark Healthcare+ is searching for a Part-Time Clinical Dietitian to join our nutrition team at Chesapeake General Hospital in Chesapeake, VA. Schedule: Approximately 16-20 Hours per Week.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assess patient's nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition plans based on their medical history, current health status, and specific needs
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle changes
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices for nutrition care
  • Monitor patients' progress and make modifications to their nutrition plans as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of clinical nutrition

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in nutrition or a related field
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification
  • At least one year of clinical experience preferred
  • Licensed Dietitian status in Virginia or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Passion for improving patient outcomes through high-quality nutrition care

  • Liaise with medical, nursing, Allied Health Professional and catering staff on the nutritional management of the patient
  • Provide a comprehensive clinical nutrition service within established guidelines and follow departmental protocols where applicable
  • Contribute to service planning, implementation and evaluation as required
  • Develop a structured process for the nutrition education of other disciplines within the hospital
  • Co-ordinate and participate in nutrition committees and groups as required
