We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support a small, family-owned construction-related business in Spokane. This role offers a flexible schedule and will focus on getting the books up to date, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This is a contract or contract-to-hire opportunity, ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on bookkeeping work and can operate independently in a small team environment.
Job Responsibility:
Clean up and bring financial records current, including clearing a 5–6 month backlog in QuickBooks
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing
Perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies
Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records in QuickBooks
Support job cost/project tracking as needed within company systems
Partner with an external CPA to support financial reporting and month-end processes
Investigate discrepancies and proactively resolve issues
Requirements:
5+ years of bookkeeping experience
Strong experience with QuickBooks
Solid understanding of AP, AR, and reconciliations
High attention to detail and ability to work independently
Comfortable in a small, team-oriented environment
