Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Part Time Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting accounting operations. Job Responsibility:

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts to ensure financial accuracy
Match and monitor bank transactions against internal records, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
Maintain precise and organized financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Record journal entries, including adjustments for deposits, payments, fees, and interest
Collaborate with the accounting team during month-end and year-end close processes by providing accurate reconciliation reports
Communicate with banks and vendors to address and resolve payment issues or discrepancies
Provide documentation and support for audits, ensuring reconciliation details are clear and accessible

Requirements:

Proven experience in bookkeeping, including account reconciliation and financial record maintenance
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures and practices
Ability to manage month-end close processes effectively
Excellent data entry skills with a commitment to accuracy
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for liaising with banks, vendors, and team members
