Job Description

The Banquet Cook prepares, produces, and presents food items for catered functions and special events according to Banquet Event Orders, ensuring consistency, quality, and timeliness for large groups and special gatherings.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions, and special functions in accordance with banquet menus and BEOs
  • Set up and maintain banquet kitchen stations, ensuring readiness for high-volume service and multiple events
  • Follow recipe cards, production standards, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency across large batch cooking
  • Safely operate, maintain, and clean banquet kitchen equipment
  • Date and rotate food containers
  • maintain par levels
  • minimize waste and assist in monitoring food costs
  • Collaborate with Culinary leadership and service teams to ensure seamless event execution

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional cooking experience, preferably in banquets/catering and in a luxury hotel or resort
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and properly clean commercial kitchen equipment, such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knife skills
  • Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 70 lbs
  • US work authorization is required
