Broster Buchanan is working in partnership with a leading not for profit organisation as they recruit a Part Time Assistant Management Accountant to join them to drive significant change and transformation to accounting systems and processes.
Job Responsibility
Building strong working relationships across the organisation to deliver a genuinely value-adding finance service
producing first-stage analysis and variance commentary at month and year end
supporting the preparation of forecasts and longer-term financial plans, including ongoing monitoring and reporting
meeting regularly with budget holders to review spend against plan — spotting, resolving, or escalating issues early
acting as a first point of contact for finance questions and queries, responding promptly and helpfully
Requirements
Experience in a busy, customer-focused finance role
solid management accounting skills — budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting, with the ability to identify and explain variances
excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
strong communication skills, including explaining complex information to non-specialists
confidence working both independently and as part of a team
strong IT skills, particularly across Microsoft Office, and an eye for using systems to support clear reporting
Nice to have
Part-qualification (or equivalent experience) towards a recognised accountancy qualification CCAB (ACA / CIMA / CIPFA / ACCA)
experience with finance systems and reporting tools such as Power BI and SAP
