Job Description

We are looking for a Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to support daily payment operations for an organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong experience in invoice processing, account coding, and accurate three-way matching in a fast-paced environment. The role offers a part-time schedule of approximately 30 hours per week, with flexibility to work either three full days or five partial days. Candidates with experience in logistics or manufacturing settings and exposure to Epicor will be well positioned for success.

Job Responsibility

  • Process vendor invoices with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring proper coding and timely entry into the accounting system
  • Complete three-way matching by reconciling purchase orders, receipts, and invoices before approving payment
  • Prepare and support ACH payments and check runs in alignment with established payment schedules
  • Review invoice details, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams or vendors to address exceptions
  • Maintain organized accounts payable records and documentation to support audit readiness and reporting needs
  • Assist with routine vendor account reconciliation to confirm balances and investigate outstanding items
  • Use accounting software, including Epicor when applicable, to manage transaction processing and payment activity

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role
  • Demonstrated success performing three-way match for invoice and purchase order processing
  • Hands-on experience with invoice coding, account coding, and high-volume invoice entry
  • Working knowledge of ACH transactions and check run procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payment discrepancies efficiently
  • Experience in logistics, manufacturing, or a comparable operational industry is preferred
  • Familiarity with Epicor or similar accounting software is an advantage
