We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-time Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day invoice and payment activities for a busy organization in Peoria, Arizona. This is a Contract opportunity with an open-ended duration expected to last at least 2 to 3 months, and it requires onsite availability on a part-time schedule. The role is well suited for someone who is comfortable handling manual accounts payable tasks, organizing coding across multiple departments, and maintaining accuracy in a high-volume environment.
Job Responsibility
Process accounts payable transactions by reviewing invoices, assigning accurate account codes, and preparing items for payment in a timely manner
Manage invoice coding within Concur and Sage Intacct, ensuring expenses are directed to the correct campus, department, and account structure
Support check processing activities on designated weekdays and help keep payment workflows moving efficiently with a lean team
Review and code receipts, including purchases from vendors such as Home Depot, and make sure supporting documentation is properly matched to each expense
Monitor shared inbox activity and pull utility bills or other submitted items for entry, coding, and follow-up as needed
Handle a variety of manual AP assignments and task-based work that requires strong organization and close attention to detail
Identify unusual or unclear coding situations and apply sound judgment to route expenses accurately across 18 campuses and multiple departments
Requirements
Previous experience in accounts payable, including invoice processing and expense coding
Working knowledge of AP systems such as Concur and Sage Intacct, or the ability to learn new platforms quickly
Experience supporting check runs or related payment processing activities
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex coding across multiple entities or cost centers
Comfortable working onsite in Peoria, Arizona on a part-time schedule, including Mondays and Thursdays with flexible daily hours
Ability to handle manual, task-driven work independently while maintaining accuracy and consistency
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced accounting environment
