Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our team in Warwick, Rhode Island. This is a long-term contract position suitable for someone skilled in accounting operations and eager to contribute to the financial success of our organization. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare recurring journal entries on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Manage and maintain the fixed asset ledger for both book and tax purposes
Conduct thorough analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Perform ad hoc evaluations of accounting transactions, operational performance, and financial accounts
Assist in the month-end close process by providing accurate financial reports and analysis
Review and process general expenses, including accounts payable
Support the preparation and monthly review of the company’s operating budget
Post and verify details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in the general ledger using receipts, invoices, and other financial documents
Generate quarterly and annual financial statements using reporting software, ensuring accuracy and assisting with filings
Handle daily bookkeeping responsibilities during staff absences, including vacations and sick days

Requirements:

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts
Strong experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting
Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation and analysis
Familiarity with fixed asset management for book and tax purposes
Ability to perform ad hoc analysis of financial transactions and operational performance
Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and expense management
Competence in using financial reporting software for statement generation and filing
Attention to detail and ability to handle bookkeeping tasks efficiently during absences
