Job Description:

A well-established synagogue is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant/Bookkeeper to support their financial operations. This role is approximately 25 hours per week with hybrid flexibility, requiring at least three days per week on-site. The position involves managing payroll, accounts receivable, quarterly reporting, and fixed assets for a faith-based, nonprofit organization.

Job Responsibility:

Submit accounts receivable and process checks
Manage payroll for 13 full-time and seasonal employees using ADP (WFN), as well as contract employees
Review and reconcile quarterly financial reports
Maintain and update fixed asset records
Complete tax forms
Support documentation for annual worker’s compensation audit
Identify and correct fiscal year discrepancies

Requirements:

Experience with QuickBooks and nonprofit or faith-based financial operations
High attention to detail with strong financial review skills
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work a minimum of 3 days/week on-site
Interest in a long-term role
Familiarity with ShulCloud or similar synagogue management systems is a plus
