Job Responsibility

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of parks and facilities, public grounds, open spaces, and cemetery
Mows and maintains park and open space areas
mows weeds
cleans and maintains tennis courts and nets
maintains sprinkler systems and assists in the repair and installation of sprinkler lines and heads
Assists in the maintenance of the municipal swimming pool
Paints and repairs or replaces picnic tables and benches
Performs minor semi-skilled interior building maintenance such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and other unskilled and semi-skilled trades work
Performs routine maintenance on lawn mowers, power equipment, and irrigation systems
Carries out the seeding, fertilizing, top dressing, soil conditioning, watering, and the pest and weed control of the City's parks and open spaces

Assists in operation of the skate shop, sells and stocks supplies

Supervise daily activities of Lane Ambassadors and Maintenance staff in the parking department to ensure compliance to expectations
Provides leadership and team building, communicates policies and operational information, and works to ensure safety
Develops and maintains a cooperative team-building environment
Provides a positive role model encouraging open communication and positive solution-based problem solving
Performs spot checks on parking transactions for all cashiers and change banks
Monitors employee attendance and appearance noting any violations of company policy
Monitors cashier revenue reconciliation noting any deficiency as per department policy
