The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Parks Maintenance Senior Technician - CDL. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8 shifts, with seasonal start times of 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler. Who we are looking for Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform skilled carpentry, painting, welding, locksmithing, irrigation, and related maintenance, repair, inspection, remodeling, and service tasks on park facilities and grounds. Minimum qualifications • A High School Diploma or GED; and • 3 years of maintenance experience, including irrigation and general facility maintenance; and • Backflow Prevention Testing, Welding, or Playground Inspector Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and • A Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire or promotion; • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available. The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
