Job Description:

Join our Parks team supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe and welcoming outdoor environments. This is a full-time role working across the city wherever required. The Parks Service is responsible for the strategic management inspection and maintenance of a wide range of parks, gardens and open spaces.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out a range of repair, maintenance and safety-related works to parks and open space infrastructure
  • Undertake general and repair works on play equipment
  • Respond to urgent health and safety issues
  • Accurately record inspections, defects and completed works
  • Travel across multiple sites both within and outside the City
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Manage workload safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation
  • Liaise with colleagues and assist external contractors

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Good understanding of mechanical fitting and safety principles
  • Ability to identify faults and determine appropriate action
  • Knowledge of BS EN and other safety standards
  • Competent in the safe use of a wide range of hand and powered tools
  • Ability to work in a safe, tidy and methodical manner
  • Ability to interpret written reports, plans and drawings
  • Physically fit to carry out the requirements of the post
  • Hold a full and valid driving licence
