Job Description:

You will be part of a team that work together to maintain the city's 291 parking machines, maintaining the cities On-Street and Off-Street Parking Machines. The role will also involve assisting the Signage Technician with installation of signage which may include manual handling duties, also the cash collectors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and repair parking machines and other associated equipment
  • Work outside of normal core hours on a rota basis, to include weekends and public holidays
  • Assist the Signage Technician with installation of signage
  • Assist cash collectors
  • Responsible for the safekeeping and accounting of keys and money
  • Wear uniform whilst on duty

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of street furniture i.e. signs/parking machines/phone boxes or similar
  • Hold a G39 electric safety certificate or equivalent
  • or willing to undertake training to achieve G39 certification
  • Experience of maintaining and repairing machinery (i.e. parking machines, fax machines or similar)
  • Background in mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of computer programming, xml and Text files would be advantageous
  • Ability to carry out physical duties such as moving parking machines/climbing ladders/installing signage/Lifting cash boxes
  • Ability to work from a height to climb ladders/install signage etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proactive attitude to team working
  • Full driving license

Nice to have:

Knowledge of computer programming, xml and Text files
