This is a role that puts people at the centre. Working across Napier’s streets, public spaces, and CCTV systems, this position plays a key part in supporting community safety, keeping traffic flowing, and helping create a city environment that feels welcoming and well looked after. From providing directions to visitors, to responding to incidents or supporting events, the work is varied, visible, and meaningful. Alongside enforcement responsibilities, this role is about how those interactions are handled. A calm, respectful approach goes a long way whether that’s educating someone on parking rules, de-escalating a situation, or working alongside Police and community partners. It’s a hands-on role that requires good judgement, strong communication, and a genuine interest in supporting the community day-to-day.
