The Parking Attendant is a part-time, on-call, event-based position. Under the direct supervision of the Parking Manager and/or Parking Coordinator, the attendant is responsible for collecting payments for garage access, assisting with pay stations, directing vehicles, and maintaining garage operations at the Broward County Convention Center.
Job Responsibility:
Process credit card transactions for parking fees in a timely and accurate manner
Complete all necessary reports and paperwork related to the reconciliation of credit card transactions
Answer questions related to daily, event, monthly, and long-term parking options
Direct traffic into, within, and out of the parking garage
Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries from patrons and the general public
Maintain and responsibly use supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for job duties
Set up designated parking areas as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Serve as a liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring client requirements are met and that all facility rules, regulations, and policies are followed
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of one year of customer service experience
Experience using payment devices and pay stations
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing situations
Capable of resolving issues and addressing complaints in a calm and professional manner
Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate results
Able to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
Friendly, self-motivated, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable communicating effectively with guests, clients, vendors, and coworkers
Basic computer proficiency, including use of standard office equipment (e.g., computers, payment devices, copiers, phones)
Must be physically able to bend, stoop, reach, and perform manual tasks
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
Hearing must be sufficient to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells, and horns
Must have the mobility to move quickly between different areas of the venue
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds as needed
Requires good eye-hand-foot coordination and dexterity to operate basic tools and equipment
Nice to have:
Experience in convention centers, hotels, or similar settings is a plus
