The Parish Administrator furthers the life and ministry of St John's Darlinghurst by developing, maintaining, and overseeing essential administrative systems for the church. It is an important public-facing role, providing an initial point of contact to enquirers and members of the public both physically at our front door and by phone, email, and website. The role also facilitates smooth integration with St John's Community Services (SJCS), who shares office space and facilities with the church.
Job Responsibility
Assist ministry staff with operations
Record-keeping
Liaising with contractors and external hirers
Managing the front of house
Liaise with our external bookkeepers, including invoicing our hirers and managing invoices for payment
Preparing necessary content for Sunday services (orders of service, slides, etc.)
Preparing and delivering church communications, incl. weekly emails and website maintenance
Requirements
Mature Christian who loves God and the church
Eager to serve and enjoys providing ministry support
Highly self-motivated, working well independently and with others, and able to juggle multiple tasks at once
A problem-solver, adept at optimising systems, organisation, and long-range planning
Skilled user of current computer and communications technology
