A well-established law firm situated in San Jose, California is looking for an experienced Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will focus on processing legal documents, maintaining accurate client records, and resolving legal inquiries. The role involves monitoring case deadlines, court hearings, and discovery requests. Responsibilities include legal research, organizing and drafting legal documents, preparing discovery responses, and assisting in trial preparations.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze law sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes, and prepare summaries or reports
Organize, draft, and file legal documents and correspondence within the document management system
Prepare draft discovery responses and ensure compliance with case deadlines
Collect, categorize, and interpret data, including electronically stored information through eDiscovery software
Review and analyze reports, responses, and records produced by opposing counsel
Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in litigation, maintaining regular communication with clients
Assist attorneys in preparing for and attending depositions, including summarizing deposition transcripts
Manage all details before, during, and after trial, which may occasionally include attendance and assistance at trial
Record daily billable and non-billable hours accurately in the firm’s timekeeping system
Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, maintaining client confidentiality and complying with firm policies
Foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation, working productively and cooperatively with other employees
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least 3 years of experience in a Paralegal role
Proficiency in Calendar Management is necessary
Experience with Ediscovery is required
The ability to handle Discovery Responses effectively is key
A Bachelor's Degree in Law or a related field is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential
Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite is expected
The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively is needed
Knowledge of legal terminology and principles is required
Demonstrated ability to conduct legal research is a must
