We have an exciting opportunity for a Litigation and Education Paralegal to join our Legal Services Litigation Team. The work you will be carrying out will not only be invaluable to Legal Services but also pivotal to all Service Areas in Gloucestershire County Council. Your work will vary from providing support and assistance to the Litigation and Education Lawyers to holding and managing your own caseload of legal cases including advocating in court. In return you will part of a legal team that actively encourages career development opportunities should that be something of interest or importance to you.
Job Responsibility:
Hold a varied case load of litigation matters and support the Litigation and Education Lawyers
Effectively manage a caseload covering employment law, criminal prosecutions, education exclusion review hearings and legal research
Advocate in court
Requirements:
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to prioritise workloads with conflicting priorities
Ability to work well under pressure
Flexibility and ability to adapt from one area of law to another
Excellent communication skills to advocate at court and in Exclusion Review Hearings
Ability to build excellent client relationships
Legal requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English (under Immigration Act 2016 for customer facing roles)
