We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to support appeals activity in Concord, California. This contract opportunity with permanent potential focuses on coordinating documentation, filings, and case tracking related to Medicare reimbursement appeals while helping the team maintain an organized and timely workflow. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured legal or appeals environment.
Job Responsibility
Prepare, revise, and maintain appeal-related documentation to support matters before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board
Organize and monitor case materials so records remain accurate, accessible, and ready for deadlines or review
Submit filings through the appropriate electronic board system and confirm documents are processed correctly and on time
Track case activity and status updates within project management and case management platforms
Receive, review, and distribute correspondence from the Review Board and other involved parties to keep matters moving efficiently
Gather and assemble jurisdictional and supporting records needed for appeal submissions and case progression
Update standard forms, templates, and filing materials to promote consistency and accuracy across the appeals process
Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or similar legal support setting as a paralegal, or an associate degree in paralegal studies
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred
Paralegal certificate from an approved program preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using electronic filing and case management systems
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive documents and multiple priorities
Careful attention to detail, sound critical-thinking ability, and the capacity to work independently
Familiarity with recordkeeping, filing practices, and general administrative procedures in a legal environment
Ability to travel to Concord five days a week
