We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join a dynamic law firm in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This role is integral to supporting attorneys in litigation and legal case management, requiring expertise in drafting, reviewing, and summarizing legal documents. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational skills and a thorough understanding of legal processes.
Job Responsibility:
Review and analyze legal documents provided by clients, including correspondence, notices, applications, and guarantees
Draft a variety of legal documents, such as complaints, answers, affidavits, motions, and appellate briefs
Assist attorneys in tracking prejudgment and post-judgment damages, including interest calculations, costs, and payments
Conduct legal research to support case preparation and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations
Prepare attorneys for motions, hearings, and conferences in anticipation of trials
Summarize and index depositions, ensuring all necessary documents are organized and accessible
Utilize legal case management software to streamline document handling and case tracking
Collaborate with attorneys to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet critical deadlines
Maintain accurate billing records and contribute to claim administration processes
Monitor calendar schedules and ensure timely submission of required legal filings
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a paralegal
Proficiency in legal case management software, such as Aderant or CompuLaw
Familiarity with document review processes and legal drafting techniques
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent project management abilities to handle multiple cases simultaneously
Proficient in tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)
Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with attorneys and clients
Nice to have:
Knowledge of banking and finance law is advantageous
