We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will support two attorneys specializing in personal injury cases, assisting with both pre-litigation and litigation processes. This position offers the opportunity to manage key case logistics, meet critical deadlines, and contribute significantly to case preparation and success.
Job Responsibility:
Provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling personal injury cases during pre-litigation and litigation stages
Manage and maintain attorneys’ calendars, ensuring all court deadlines and motion schedules are tracked accurately
Coordinate and schedule appointments such as Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and Examinations Under Oath (EUOs)
Organize and schedule litigation events, including depositions, to ensure seamless case progression
Draft legal documents, correspondence, and other case-related materials in a timely and accurate manner
File legal documents with courts and relevant agencies, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements
Monitor and uphold deadlines by maintaining a detailed motion support calendar
Offer general administrative and case management support to attorneys, ensuring efficient workflow
Utilize case management software to organize and track case information effectively
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a personal injury law firm
Proficiency in handling both pre-litigation and litigation processes within personal injury cases
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with legal calendar management and scheduling procedures
Paralegal certificate or equivalent education is preferred
Experience with SmartAdvocate or similar case management software is highly desirable
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
