We are looking for a motivated and experienced Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in Santa Barbara, California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation and discovery processes, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. Job Responsibility:
Provide comprehensive support to attorneys by preparing and reviewing pleadings, discovery responses, and document production
Draft motions to compel and other legal documents to ensure timely and accurate responses
Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and documents for discovery responses
Organize and manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, and travel arrangements
File legal documents in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements
Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading legal briefs, motions, and other documents
Conduct factual research and compile supporting information for legal cases
Perform administrative tasks such as conflicts checks, document production, intake processes, and expense reporting
Review, summarize, and maintain case files, while ensuring effective client communication
Monitor and document attorney and personal time for accurate record-keeping
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in civil litigation
Strong knowledge of discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
Proven ability to manage trial preparation and support attorneys during litigation
Proficiency in case management software and e-filing systems
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work remotely and independently, while maintaining collaboration with the legal team
Nice to have:
Experience with trial proceedings and providing support during trials is highly desirable
