We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join a boutique litigation firm in Los Angeles, California. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with skilled attorneys on sophisticated business litigation cases, with occasional white-collar criminal defense matters. Job Responsibility:
Manage a diverse caseload while working directly with multiple partners to ensure timely and accurate case progress
Draft and prepare discovery responses, including creating shells and integrating information provided by attorneys or adjustors
Develop and organize trial documents, pleadings, and other essential legal materials
Conduct thorough document reviews to support litigation needs
Provide backup support for electronic filings in both state and federal courts
Assist with calendaring deadlines and managing case schedules to ensure compliance with court requirements
Collaborate effectively with legal assistants and other staff members to maintain smooth operations
Utilize case management software to organize and track case details efficiently
Ensure all legal documentation is prepared and filed in accordance with regulatory standards
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in civil litigation or business litigation
Strong proficiency in discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
Experience with trial preparation and familiarity with creating trial-related documents
Knowledge of electronic filing systems for both state and federal courts
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
Familiarity with case management software and calendaring tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with attorneys, clients, and court personnel
Nice to have:
Certification as a paralegal is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has significant relevant experience
