A mid-sized law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive paralegal to join its Commercial Transaction team. This group handles a diverse range of matters, including commercial real estate financings, business loans, asset-based lending, renewable energy projects, affordable housing developments, and loan recovery/workouts. The paralegal will work closely with attorneys throughout all stages of transactions, managing critical details such as document preparation, due diligence, closing coordination, and post-closing tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Communicate with clients, vendors, and outside counsel via phone and email
Research legal entity names and statuses in various jurisdictions
Review and analyze transaction documents and due diligence for compliance
Evaluate title exams, commitments, and policies for commercial real estate deals
Conduct searches (UCC, tax lien, litigation) and summarize findings
Prepare and file UCC financing statements
Draft closing agendas, settlement statements, and ancillary loan/corporate documents
Assist with loan closings, including organizing and delivering original documents
Maintain electronic closing binders and shared file systems
Perform occasional administrative support tasks as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
Paralegal Certificate preferred
4–8+ years of experience in commercial finance within a law firm setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management tools
Familiarity with electronic filing systems and government portals
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
