Manage assigned birth injury and medical malpractice matters through key stages of litigation, ensuring deadlines, filings, and case activity remain on track.
Coordinate incoming and outgoing case correspondence, maintain communication logs, and serve as a point of contact for client updates and follow-up.
Oversee litigation calendars by tracking hearings, discovery deadlines, depositions, and other critical case events.
Request, organize, and maintain medical and collateral source records, including processing authorizations and preparing materials for attorney review.
Conduct legal and factual research using recognized research platforms and online resources to support case development and court submissions.
Prepare, format, proofread, and electronically file pleadings and related documents in accordance with applicable state and federal court rules.
Organize document productions, assemble exhibit sets, and create binders or notebooks for depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Support deposition and expert witness preparation by scheduling proceedings, coordinating court reporters, maintaining source documents, and summarizing transcripts.
Draft and compile litigation materials such as complaints, subpoenas, interrogatory responses, fact sheets, exhibit lists, and other supporting court documents.
Requirements
At least 2 years of paralegal experience, with prior exposure to birth injury, medical malpractice, personal injury, or civil litigation matters.
Working knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, including discovery, court filings, deposition preparation, and trial support.
Ability to review and interpret medical records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency with legal research tools, Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and case or document management systems.
Experience with e-filing procedures and court filing platforms used in state and federal litigation.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities under deadline pressure.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
plaintiff-side litigation experience is strongly preferred.
Flexibility to work additional hours when case demands require it.
